VIVE BARIS 2024

Vishwa Bharati Public School hosted the second edition of Vive Baris Conference, VBGNMUN’24. The Opening Ceremony of the Conference began with the welcome speech by the Director General, Ayush Solanki and the Secretary General, Kanika Rajput. The Sec Gen quoted Dag Hammarskjöld, the second Secretary General of the United Nations. “Everything will be all right - you know when? When people, just people, stop thinking of the United Nations as a weird Picasso abstraction and see it as a drawing they made themselves.” More than 100 delegates participated in the 2 day conference and discussed real life problems. Delegates in the UNGA committee, it being the main representative body of the UN, discussed and kept forward their stance upon the agenda, UNGA assembly resolution should be binding on all the members of states irrespective of a veto from the security council. The members of UNSC committee set forth their priorities on whether UNSC should be democratised and veto power should be abolished. Delegates representing Political leaders in the AIPPM discussed whether India should go for presidential form of government. The UNHRC, whose mission is to promote the human rights around the world discussed if UNHRC is able to fulfil its role in an effective manner because of the veto powers of the permanent members of the UN. The Journalists and Photographers in the International Press made beautiful reports of the day. The Moderators appreciated the delegates and their sincerity. The Second day brought to a close the two day program with the words of gratitude expressed by the MUN Coordinator, Mrs. Ravinderjeet Kaur. The Secretary General concluded the 2 day conference and declared the discussions closed.
